About K-LIFE STORY USA
K-LIFE STORY USA is a non-profit organization, founded on February 21, 2025, and inspired by the StoryCorps model. We are a public movement dedicated to capturing, sharing, and archiving the authentic life stories of the Korean diaspora worldwide. We believe that listening to one another’s stories with respect builds strong relationships, deepens empathy, and strengthens the foundation of our global community.
What We Do
Our core work is the video interview, which we conduct with the utmost respect, consideration, and dignity for each participant. In a quiet, comfortable setting, we invite people to share their personal narratives in a natural, conversational format. We explore topics like childhood memories, life's major turning points, and hard-won wisdom, allowing each individual's unique experience to shine.These interviews are then thoughtfully edited and enhanced with subtitles and music before being shared on our YouTube channel and official website, kstory.org. The goal is to make these precious stories accessible, spark community dialogue, and build a permanent public archive.
Our Vision for the Future
Our ultimate purpose is to create a more just and humane world by ensuring every person's story is heard and valued. Beyond preserving our history, we aim to actively empower our community through the power of narrative.
Our future plans include:
- Producing ongoing story series and hosting special screening events.
- Developing storytelling workshops and educational programs.
- Offering leadership training that leverages personal stories to help members of our community thrive and break barriers.
